Marafiq Water Production Department at Yanbu with installed capacity of 95,760 cubic meters per day produces standard quality Potable water for the community and high quality of Process water for Industries in Yanbu Industrial City. The RO-1 Plant (6 trains with capacity of 50, 400 cubic meters per day) which is under commissioning will be available for commercial operation during 2007. The addition of RO-1 plant will increase the water production capacity by 52.6 per cent.

Being the only provider of Potable and Process water in Yanbu Industrial City, the department carries demanding responsibility, the job remains crucial.
Ever increasing demand of the utilities, aging plants, difficulties in procurement of the material, spare parts and resources in the region have been the main challenges in process of accomplishment of our mission.

Within four years of formation of Marafiq the completion of major tasks and diversified programs had contributed to the development and progress of Marafiq in all dimensions. Commitments are honored and the actual demand of Process water and Potable Water has been fulfilled satisfactorily. So far the objectives are achieved and believed to be assessed with satisfaction.

Scope of Services
Yanbu O&M function covers core Marafiq business at Yanbu. Our scope of services involve Operation and Maintenance of the following utility business.

Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution
Potable and Process Water Production, Storage and Distribution
Sea Water Cooling Supply and Distribution
Industrial and Sanitary Waste treatment
Treated Water Storage and Distribution

Operating Principles
We will operate the facility to minimise the potential impact of equipment failure and unscheduled maintenance on Complex availability and efficiency, to minimise costs, and to maximise asset life. Improvements in operations will be sought through the regular review of existing procedures and of industry best practice.

Maintenance Management
The facilities of the SAP enterprise management solution will be fully utilised to control procurement, inventory, maintenance scheduling and asset management. Time-based and condition-based maintenance routines will be optimised to minimise costs, minimise plant downtime and to maximise asset life. Spares and consumables will be maintained at minimum levels and value, commensurate with our obligation to meet the availability targets specified in the KPI and to satisfy our customer's demand.
