Marafiq is responsible for producing and distributing water at the highest quality for the community and the industrial customers in Jubail 1 & 2.
The water system consists of production facilities, networks, pumping stations, and strategic storage facilities. It supplies water for the industries in Jubail 1 & 2, which is a vital utility for the continuous operation of all primary and secondary sectors. The same water is used for drinking in the community areas after Re-mineralization and disinfection with Chlorine Dioxide.
There is a total of 79 portable storage tanks, which are classified into two categories: bulk storage tanks and local storage tanks. There is a total of 26-bulk storage tanks located near the East Pump Station (EPS) and North West Pump Station (NWPS). The total storage capacity available for all these tanks is 2,100,000 m3. There are 53 local storage tanks in various locations of the community, primary industry, secondary industry, support industry, and residential areas to meet the water demand with an approximate capacity of 300,000 m3.
Marafiq's water network consists of the main transmission lines and the distribution lines along with bulk storage tanks, local tanks, pump stations, and water meters in various locations in the Jubail Industrial City. The total length of distribution lines is about 1,575 km. There are 26 pumping stations in the water network system. Marafiq has a total of 30,000 water meters for billing the consumption in community and industrial areas.
