With a capacity of 208,240 cubic meters per day, Yanbu's water production facility produces standard quality potable water mainly for residential customers, and high-quality process water for industries.
The water production capabilities at Yanbu can rival any international water facility due to its advanced infrastructure. Yanbu 1 has three multi-stage flash desalination units, one Reverse Osmosis desalination unit, and two multi-effect distillation units.
The Yanbu 2 has two additional Multi-Effect Distillation (MED) units with a total capacity of 60,000 m3/day, which are fully capable of catering to the medium-term potable and processed water demand of Yanbu Industrial City.
With an underground pipeline network of about 853 kilometers, Marafiq has four pumping stations to meet an average daily supply-demand of 57,000 m3/day. The facility is also equipped to store over 540,000 m3 of fresh drinking water.
To meet the daily need of the Yanbu Industrial City, two pumping stations supply processed water continuously through a pipe network of 51 km from the storage tanks in the power and water desalination plants to the industrial users.
The facility has 23 storage tanks for storing processed water with a capacity of 1,220,000 m3.
